Karkh Market

On a recent trip with Ambassador Crocker we visited the Karkh market. Luckily he found just the right sort of glass he was looking for. 100_2037.jpg

Old Haifa

Recently I visited an area of Bagdad called "Old Haifa" in the Karkh district. Exploring this part of town was off limits to virtually everyone until recently. Its now showing some signs of life. 100_2142.jpg

Rusafa Book Market

After a car bomb ripped trough the Rusafa book market, a historic portion of Baghdad, I went out to assess the damage. I'd never seen anything as destructive both in physical damage and lost culture. 100_1370.JPG
