After being lost for close to two years, the Iraqi police were recently successful in retrieving some of the most precious pieces of Iraqi antiquity. The items were looted from the Baghdad museum following the war and were hidden in Sadr City until two days ago. The estimated worth of the items below is in the billions of dollars and date back more than 10,000 years. Today, the Minister of Interior Baker Jaber brought the items to the Prime Minister's office so they could be returned to their rightful place in the Baghdad museum.
The Baghdad museum curator explains the history behind each piece to Prime Minister Jaffari (center) and Minister Jaber (right).
Following the Ministry of Interior gaining possession of the artifacts, they were kept for safe keeping in this piece of luggage for two days under the Minister's bed.
